Celebrating Rev Awdry today felt long overdue.

There is a wonderful line attributed to the Rev Awdry: ‘Sometimes, the best adventures are the ones we can only dream about’. On Sodor, in his wonderful small format books, and in our hearts, he left us with some of the best adventures.

A national blue plaque has been unveiled at the former home of Thomas The Tank Engine creator Reverend Wilbert Awdry.

The unveiling, at 30 Rodborough Avenue in Stroud, Gloucestershire, marked 80 years since the first of the classic Thomas & Friends books, The Three Railway Engines, was published.

Today is a very special day - @HistoricEngland launched a Blue Plaque to honour the Rev. Wilbert Awdry at his house on Rodborough Avenue - the creator of Thomas the Tank Engine.

We bought his original Ffarquhar Branch back to Stroud for the first time in 30 years to celebrate!

During the Awdry Weekend I was quite surprised at how much I actually enjoyed operating Mid Sodor. I've still yet to properly learn how the layout is to be operated, sequence like, but once I get this current project I'm planning on making done, I might look into continuing my replica of the layout.

Just back home from what has been quite an eventful week. Well done to everyone at the Talyllyn Railway to the organisers, the drivers, crew, station staff and more for making this event memorable.
And now I must get what rest I can before returning to work early tomorrow morning.

アメリカでももうパない差別思想が蔓延ってるってのはわかるし、たぶん自分の思想がリベラル寄りだから調べる情報もそっちに偏ってるってのはあるかもしれないけど、どうも自分がオタク的に興味あることに調べると西洋の方はまだあらゆる差別に反対する姿勢を見せる(他人の差別的な態度をからかうとかも含むけど)クリエイターやユーザーに出くわすことが多いのに、日本だとま〜あ「ポリコレ」言いたがる層にぶつかる確率が圧倒的に高い気がするんだけどなんでなんだ！？！

自分の見方が悪いのか知らんけど、自分にも興味深いオタク的観点に特化したYouTubeチャンネルとか探してて『面倒なモノ』として「ポリコレ」「コンプラ」平気で言ってるヤツにぶち当たるのが当たり前すぎて勘弁してほしいんですが…(だからあまり普段は日本語で調べねえんだよ！！！)

アニメにおける同一キャラクターの歴代声優比較をしてみた、個人的にめっちゃ興味深い動画(カートゥーンもあるでよ！)を投稿しれくれてるチャンネルを見つけて意気揚々といろいろ観ていたら、投稿者が説明文で「ポリコレ」言ってる動画に出くわしてあぁ…またか…💀となりました

Rediscovered Thomas the Tank Engine Pilot Is Released

The 1983 pilot of “Thomas & Friends,” featuring narration from Ringo Starr, was found in storage by accident. It was restored and made available for viewing for the first time on Friday. Watch here.
