they have big number followers and big number followers is very important to their identity so they fool themselves into thinking big number equals visibility even though it doesn't anymore

it baffles me because within a year of moving here, when i was still cross posting the big stuff, interaction on there had dropped to almost nothing. what eyeballs??????? are people just getting tricked by fake views and bot likes or what, it's so weird lol

i hear over on twitter they're going to remove all heuristics that determine visibility (likes, retweets, replies, etc) and replacing it with curation by the "AI" known as grok

how many people are you willing to bet will still stay on there after this change cause "that's where the eyeballs are" 🙄
