Having done a lot of work around crime data, I wanted to write to abolitionists about some tendencies in the critiques of the data and the implication for discourse and organizing.

Text reads: What is most perplexing about these passages is not so much the direct implications of the Court’s interpretation as the fact that the Court felt obliged to take such a rigid view on the matter of sexual orientation in the first place. The phenomenon identified by “sex orientation” may well have biological associations (most plausibly, people of a certain “sex orientation” might be thought to be oriented towards primary and secondary sex characteristics), but it is not associated exclusively with the features that determine an individual’s “biological sex”. Sexual orientation, as it is commonly understood, is at least a weakly social phenomenon. In practice it is usually determined by something that resembles self-identification. The “biological sex” interpretation of same-sex orientation pressed by the Court implies a legislative intention to strictly regulate what counts as same-sex orientation for the purposes of the statute. It is highly implausible to think that it was Parliament’s intention to force a biological straitjacket on sexual orientation in this way.

คือเราไม่ได้อยู่ในโลก trans supremacy ที่มี trans mandate ให้ทุกคนทรานสิชั่น การที่คนลองเทคครั้งนึงในชีวิตถือเป็นเรื่องน่าชื่นชม เพราะต่อให้มีนโยบายสาธารณะและกฎหมายกี่ข้อก็เปลี่ยนความจริงไม่ได้ว่า “เพศ” ถูกสังคมดีไซน์มาให้รัดเราแบบ straitjacket ฉะนั้นการกล้าจะสลัดมันออกไป จะกี่ครั้งก็ตาม เพื่อทดลองสร้างตัวตนนอกพิมพ์เขียว cishetero model สิ่งนี้ช่วยทำลายปิตาจากรากมันนะ

สิ่งที่เราควรโฟกัสคือ harm reduction ทำไงให้เข้าถึง HRT ได้อย่างยั่งยืน ไม่เป็นภาระมากไป และปลอดภัย (ทั้งในเชิงการแพทย์และความมั่นคงของชีวิตกรณีที่อยู่ในสภาพแวดล้อมอันตรายและออกมาไม่ได้) ช่วยให้คนเข้าถึง mutual aid และเครือข่ายผู้เทคฮอโมนในระดับ local

เอาจริงๆ การที่คนเข้าถึงฮอโมนได้จนถึงขั้นพูดแบบ hyperbole ได้ว่า “แห่กันเทค” ควรเป็นสัญญาณที่ดีไม่ใช่หรอ เพราะทุกคนที่เป็นทรานส์ก็รู้อยู่แก่ใจว่าการเข้าถึง HRT ได้คือการรักษาชีวิต ลดอัตรา premature death เพราะ HRT ไม่ใช่แค่ยืนยันเพศ แต่รวมไปถึงศักดิ์ศรีในการเป็นคน ไม่ยอมสยบต่อ sex binary

เทคฮอโมนเป็น means อย่างนึงแค่นั้นเอง ความเชื่อว่าต้องพิสูจน์ตัวเองก่อนว่าเป็นทรานส์แทร่ถึงจะเทคได้คือต๊องและ toxic และดีเลย์การทรานสิชั่นคนอื่น สิ่งที่เราควรทำคือ be positive and informative พ้อยของการให้ข้อมูลคนคือการให้อำนาจเค้าในการตัดสินใจ ไม่ใช่ตัดสินแทนว่าคนนี้ทรานส์แทร่มากพอป่าวแล้วตบท้ายด้วยการสั่งสอนแบบ “i told u so” attitude

จริงๆ ส่วนนึงที่ไม่ชอบของคอมมูทอม/ทรานมาสค์ไทยคือเค้าชอบว่าคนหยุดเทคฮอร์โมนส์ว่าคิดไม่ดี แห่กันตามกระแสก็งี้ ทั้งๆ ที่พ้อยของการเทค หรือจะการเปลี่ยนลุ้ค การผ่าตัดอะไรก็เถอะ คือการทดลองเอาสิ่งที่อยู่ข้างในออกมาข้างนอก ถ้าสร้างบ้านแล้ว exterior ไม่ตอบโจทย์ interior ของผู้อยู่ ก็แค่หยุด เปลี่ยน ไม่มีประโยชน์ในการ shame หรือตำหนิคนอื่นเลย

นึกถึงคุนแอช (bloomfilter) ที่บอกว่า cis เข้าใจว่าความเป็นทรานส์=สภาวะการดำรงอยู่ที่แปลกประหลาดไปจาก ‘คนปกติ‘ แต่ไม่ได้มองเห็นว่าการข้ามเพศคือการต่อสู้กับ sex binary เราถึงเห็นวาทกรรม“ดิสโฟเรีย=ทรานส์เกลียดตัวเอง” มากกว่า “ดิสโฟเรียเป็นผลลัพธ์ของสังคมที่กำหนดเพศให้แต่เกิด กดจิตสำนึกคนเอาไว้เพื่อขัดเกลาให้เป็น ideal citizen และขโมยอำนาจในการกำหนดชีวิตตัวเองไป“
