The Marines and National Guard shouldn't be deployed to protests in LA, Texas or anywhere else.

Public employees have a right to speak to the press. The government can't gag them and certainly can't force them to mislabel facts as their opinions.
Greene County, VA, needed a reminder of these First Amendment basics, so @freedom.press, @spj-posts.bsky.social, and others gave them one.
SPJ and @freedom.press led a letter from a coalition of press freedom and transparency organizations urging Steve Catalano, Greene County Board of Supervisors Chairman, to rethink an 'entirely absurd' gag policy.
