You're a total pro! An awesome way to use Obsidian for research - thanks for sharing! I love its backlinks and knowledge graph. With other AI tools or plugins, I think we could turn Obsidian's database into a researcher's "second brain" - like a digital twin to really boost our research game.

Friends often muse about the ultimate AGI, and honestly, who really knows? Sci-fi has long painted AGI as a divine-like force, transcending form and residing in omniscience. Gods don’t need shapes—they're everywhere, knowing everything, skipping the need for human chatter.

Absolutely. Curious about how it is in your field. In the HCI and AI fields where I work, quite a few people work simultaneously in academia and industry. For example, they may hold a position at a university while also own their own company and engage in work that combines academia and industry.

Map my complete research identity. List all elements: methodologies, disciplines, skills, interests. Research shows those with more identity elements build larger, more diverse networks. This translates directly to more collaboration opportunities and greater visibility.

With research funding cuts under the current administration, digital networking isn't just for visibility—it's survival. Federal research budgets are shrinking and priorities are shifting rapidly. Traditional paths relying solely on publications and grants have become increasingly unsustainable.

The research landscape has changed.While previous generations built networks through conferences and formal introductions, today we move fluidly between academia and industry and drive innovation through interdisciplinary work. Yeah. The notification system is kind of helpful. And I agree that I need to face with the fact that I cannot read the papers all.🥲 But still dreams about having a subscription based research interest maybe more accurate and condense (better to be customized by myself!).

Thanks for sharing! Obsidian is a fantastic tool for management. I am using Notion for similar use, but still feel like exhausted when see so many papers in my email ( from various resources). Now I am considering to focus my attention to researchers I am interested in and follow them attentively.

How do you survive the paper/info flood? While I have plenty of resources (from various newsletters), my sources are super scattered - have to jump between different channels and my emails are overwhelming and unfiltered, making it easy to miss important papers in the flood of info. #academicsky #ai
