Before a #CME hits Earth's magnetic field, high-speed solar wind streams and energetic particles can already reach Earth. These interact with the ionosphere, particularly the F2 layer. This interaction can temporarily increase ionization in the upper ionosphere #hamradio #spacewx

As a rule of thumb, when the 10.7 cm solar flux is above 150 and the Kp index remains below 4, you can expect great #DX condx on the higher HF bands like 10 m, 12 m, 15 m, and 17m. Check the current #SpaceWX and key #HFPropagation indicators at my website grafana.gafner.net/d/kAZyp6bMz/...

A high Solar Flux Index generally improves HF propagation by raising the MUF and opening up the higher bands. SFI is currently at 226, and DX on 10m is picking up is.gd/WoY6pk

Know-how: The Single Sideband Radio - SAIL Magazine
Is single sideband radio still relevant in todayβs Starlink world?
SSB radio enables long-distance communication without satellites or infrastructure, using HF bands to bounce signals off the ionosphere. A lifeline for sailors beyond VHF & cellular range

WSPR is a great tool to:
- Optimize your RX/TX
- Assess your HF Propagation
- Compare performance with other stations
- Compare performance of Antennas
- Compare RX performance of Radios/SDRs

I was reaching out to ARDC to check if this project would qualify for a Grant. Unfortunately, individuals don't get grants without fiscal sponsors. Furthermore, ARDC wants to have evidence of demand from potential future users. Too many roadblocks...

This is bloody brilliant. I've spent months optimizing my RX and it's finally a top-notch receiving station. Over 1000 WSPR reporters in the last 24 hours, which I rank 12th for unique spots and 33rd for distance. Not bad at all considering my suburban QTH, far from an RFI quiet location

Thanks to WSPR, we know the rf power and thanks to the intl. WSPR Beacon Project, we also know the Antenna gain. We can derive a model from that. Step by step

FT8 is not a good fit, no pwr information. WSPR contains locators and has a central DB with an API currently holding more than 9 billion historic spots. Thank you

I have found a way to reduce the loop inductance of a magnetic antenna by 20% (using the same 22mm copper tube). I discovered this 5 years ago out of curiosity and it improved the RX, but I didn't know why at the time. Now I do... I'll have to confirm it with another 24 h WSPR comparison.
