Once upon a time I broke into computers for fun. Now I enjoy leading cybersecurity programs and going for PRs on hours/days without a mobile phone on me. Try it. https://grownuphacker.com if you want to stalk me.

This legitimately helps you professionally.
You: "I need a car."
Sales: ....
** everyone blinks slowly **
This is completely unrelated to onboarding customers of course. Completely unrelated. Satisfaction comes from overcoming challenges, after all.
Sales: "Ok. Is there anything else?"
You: "What do I do now?"
Sales: "Well, you drive whereever you want to!"
You: "Yeah, but where?"
Sales: "Maybe home. The mall. The grocery store. The golf course. The world is now available to you. Enjoy."
You: "Which one?"
Sales: "You decide..."
Can you imagine buying a car, sitting at the dealership and once you've been shown how to use the infotainment and how to call for roadside assistance you simply sit there. Not driving, not moving, just sitting in a car in the parking lot.

I dare you to disagree.
If you need to learn how to navigate, do it without a GPS.
If you need to disconnect, do it without your phone.
If you need to learn about your social environment, do it without social media.
If it needs your voice, write it without AI.
Don't forget how to do these things.
Enjoy your day.
AI does not create.
The only thing thatβs novel is that your meat-based storage has not seen it yet, so you attribute as new. Please remember that.
How do my fellow leaders keep it all organized?
24.10.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Vulnerability moment.
I find it difficult to keep my "cognitive load" down and stay focused as a leader of multiple departments. The mix between today's tasks, tomorrows initiatives, next year's planning and next decades strategy makes it really hard.
They donβt replace your strategy, they help you execute it without burning out your team.
In a year where budgets are tight and threats are relentless, βDIYβ is often the slowest and priciest path.
This can be very empowering, but the hidden costs can pile up. By the time youβve staffed, trained, and re-trained, youβve spent more than you would have by leaning on experts whoβve solved the same problems hundreds of times. TAMs and PS arenβt shortcuts, theyβre accelerators.
09.10.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A lot of our customers, like many platforms, started on our Community edition. So Iβve seen many teams insist on building everything themselves: custom parsers, homegrown dashboards, endless tuning cycles.

Go forth, my friends, make some colossal mistakes and then improve the world with them.
3. There will be no greater knowledge of how an organization truly works in a disasterous moment than the leadership coming directly out of a disastrous moment. A fire happens to be a great fire drill.

2. Experience is learning from anything that didn't work. You now have a more experienced leader than you had moments ago.
I just scrolled a nasty comment section in a news article demanding the resignation of a senior leader after a corporate faux pas. It's a lot easier to say this outside the mob but the idea of asking for resignation of the person in charge is typically two steps backwards.

06.10.2025 13:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0With all of the AI customer sentiment analysis tools out there, I donβt like how they donβt snitch on each other.
When AI is assessing the words that another AI wrote, why isnβt the sentiment βpower starvedβ or at least βhangryβ instead of βcustomer appears contentβ.

Stop waiting.
Go do it.

* Aggressively weaponize the management of the Risk, not the fear, uncertainty or doom.
-> Nation-state Ransomware, "Godzilla stepped on my data center" or "Fire at our Co-lo/Cloud" are all the same DR AND business continuity exercise. Godzilla is just way more fun to yell about in a suit.
* You can't prove the absence of a thing.
-> You can't prove you weren't hacked. There are many ways of proving value, increasing posture, demonstrating ROI but you can't prove that you weren't. Accept that and discuss this in more meaningful ways.
