Happy Birthday to my friend Juan Hernandez, owner of Doña Maria’s Cafe on Navigation. Mr. Hernandez and his wife are a community institution in Houston. A former Houston Fire captain, he has been a mentor to so many young people and remains a champion of so many worthy causes. Happy Birthday, Juan!

A great lunch with our campaign fellows at one of my favorite Houston restaurants, El Tiempo. I first got involved in politics in high school and as a Houston City Council Member will do all I can to mentor young people to get involved in their communities.
