This is one of my 4-year-old’s favorite songs, and I wonder how closely he listens to the lyrics.

I was reading reviews of the book I'm reading right now, the second in the series, and Kirkus dinged it because it didn't recap what happened in book one to their satisfaction. This particular narration style has a LOT of (IMHO necessary) exposition. It doesn't need more.
