I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.

I’m anxious about promoting this oneβ€”please spare me the book ban jokes, it’s genuinely scary!β€”and am hoping so hard that I can get the word out. Everyone deserves to know about working class history, especially now!

long night moon, good night

we had a dog; and then dogs; and then no dogs; and then dog; and then no dog; and now dog

the backyard grew a patio and a playset and a garden and a sandbox and shed

those things before a shed rose up and from which sometimes floats music after the sun goes down and did before, too

which is not to say that everything, but everything, is cyclical

the moon pulls away from the earth at a rate of 1.5 inches a year; in 50 billion years, only half the planet will be able to see it

tidal friction causes lunar recession; an effect is that the days get longer

eventually the earth will exist in endless summer

today, the shortest and darkest of the year, marks the onset of winter, and the re-emergence of light, which is not to say tomorrow won’t be dark

things come back around,
they do

but that is not to say they won’t be, they can’t be, changed in the revolution

Put solar and batteries on all the Post Offices. Have it serve as a community resilience hub during and after extreme events. Have it broadcast free neighborhood wifi. Every month release a new stamp with a cool animal on it.

As a teen, I needed poems that didn’t jabber to me about some dude on a horse but rather spoke to me from inside a prison cell, where a bird song was enough to imagine the world. Courage isn’t glory: it’s lonely and hard and as forsaken as an early Neko Case song.
