There’s a bill, introduced on April 10th - “Safeguarding Charity Act.”

It’s supposed to clarify that “tax-exempt organizations should NOT be treated as recipients of federal financial assistance.”

But it reads more like, “we don’t want to follow federal rules that prevent us from discriminating.”

The further down this rabbit hole you go, the further enraged you’ll be.

How he is a viable choice, given his history, is very telling.

We need to be organizing at these protests all over the country to register people to vote, sign folks up to volunteer in upcoming elections, and connecting people with activists and mutual aid groups. Let’s not just get out there and march but take it to the next level 👌🏽

Normal is subjective, but we are measured by it, defined by it, bound to it.

Seems an unfair standard 🤷‍♀️

We only solve white people problems when white people are in power.

It seems that’s what this administration wants - it’s up to us to not give them that power.

Connect, introduce, cede our seats at the table so the solutions support ALL people.

Because at its core, that is what Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Belonging mean…

To make sure all voices, experiences, problems, ideas, and solutions are represented - not just a select few.

One of my favorite sayings is, “The people closest to the problem are the ones best positioned to solve the problem.”

I think (and tell me if I’m wrong) that we WHITE CIS WOMEN, need to listen to our Black, Brown, LGBTQIA+ disabled friends and families - and do what we know how to do 👇

When POC call for help - they are treated as a threat to subdue.

And when we weaponize words, defund words it IS to maintain the status quo - to uphold the power dynamic.

I don’t share their lived experience, but I listen.

Because when white people call for help, we are believed - we need help.

I feared the day when my white autistic son stopped looking like a young innocent boy having a hard time and turned into a man who is a threat when he’s having a hard time.

The fear my Black, Brown, and LGBTQIA+ autistic friends and their parents must feel is unfathomable.

While our government actively weaponizes words to keep us divided - people are literally taking their last breath because words that keep them safe were defunded.

More than half of disabled African Americans have been arrested by the time they turn 28 - double the risk in comparison to their white disabled counterparts.”
