Interesting. Because I live right next to San Francisco Bay, I almost always see them in the water. Occasionally I'll see them in trees but the vast majority of time it is in shallow water during low tide. Thanks!

It really is a beautiful area, that house is also very close to where Nancy Pelosi and husband live and the Getty's. There was also great, reliable transportation that made it really easy to exist w/o car. North Beach is also lovely.

The best time is near dusk or early in the morning. Lately though I have seen quite a few in the afternoon, no idea why. You can see them in trees or along the shoreline.
