If we're only covering very specific circumstances that require a huge amount of legal process, what exactly is being gained by using the death penalty?

How is this different than any other debate over the death penalty?

A. If it's instant execution nobody is ever gonna plead guilty.

B. You haven't answered my question. How do you define "beyond a reasonable doubt"? We're talking about killing someone, so this really does matter.

C. Do you know how much tax money the legal process requires?
