It's another busy week for the Falcons. Men's soccer is playing just down the road from me this afternoon against DePaul University, Volleyball opens MAC play vs. Ohio on Thursday, and both play conference matches on Friday.

Football kicks off MAC play against favorites, Ohio, on Saturday.

Volleyball went 2-1 with easy wins over Oakland and Binghamton but a 3-1 loss to Michigan State at the Kathy DeBoer Invitational. Michigan State is really solid, but I think BG could have played better. That was the end of their OOC schedule.

Women's Soccer had two consecutive draws against Ohio and WMU. Would've been nice to get a win in at least one, but they're well on their way to another top 3 finish in the MAC.

Men's Soccer had a huge letdown in a 3-0 loss to Bellarmine. Literally nothing good to say about their performance.

Their offense has multiple NFL level talents and all things considered, I think our defense did a heck of a job. Pyne really had a poor game at QB and left me wondering if it's worth giving Anderson a shot to see if we can open up the offense a bit. He had time but still couldn't make the passes.

Football did about as expected against Louisville, who is deservedly knocking on the door of the Top 25. They are bigger, faster, and could actually throw the ball. The final was 40-17 but it wasn't really even that close.

On the bright side, the defense still looks very solid, even after losing Pringle (likely for the season). Here’s hoping they exit this week with their health and open MAC play strong.

BG with a rough first half on offense. Pyne looks rattled and the receivers aren’t getting space. Louisville is too strong up front to get the run going without being able to open it up. Currently 21-3 Louisville and they are threatening again to open the 3rd.

Men’s soccer faces #18 Kentucky shortly. Their first match since beating Michigan State in BG 9 days ago. They are off to a decent 2-2-1 start.

Women’s soccer off to a hotter start at 4-1-1 with a bit weaker schedule. They kick off MAC play today in BG vs. Kent State.

BG Volleyball beat Loyola (Chicago) yesterday to move to 4-5 after a brutal opening stretch on the schedule. Only one of those losses was to an unranked team and they were competitive in most of them. Headed to BG for their home opener against Oakland this Wednesday.

It’s good to be a Bowling Green football fan tonight. They dispatched a good Liberty team before a big home crowd.

Bowling Green beats Liberty.

BG in victory formation and they will move to 2-1 with a solid OOC victory over Liberty. They’ll take it 23-13 in a sloppy game but they made just a few more plays in the end. #AyZiggy

He is often confused on just about every call. This isn’t an unusual blunder for him.

Liberty with a really well executed onside kick. Looks like BG wrestled it away but I thought Liberty recovered it. I’ll take the friendly call!

It’s not quite sealed up yet. Liberty with a touchdown with 2:46 remaining. The 2-pt conversion fails and BG still leads 23-13.

The momentum is strong! UCLA transfer Acheampong got his paw on a pass and deflected it for an easy Pringle INT. Now it’s time to try draining the clock.

Last touchdown helped by a Liberty player getting mad for something? and then punching a BG player in the face and grabbing his facemask. Somehow not at ejection.

That drive was also helped by a penalty in Liberty’s Farrar that should have been an ejection. McMillan had a great run and Farrar took exception to something and slugged McMillan then grabbed his facemask. Was only a basic unsportsmanlike penalty but should have been more.

Huge stop on 4th down by the BG defense followed by two big runs by Chris McMillan that end in another Falcon touchdown! BG leads 23-7 with 11:48 remaining in the game.

A couple of bad drops stall out the drive but Jackson Kleather nails a 50-yarder to put the Falcons up 16-7. Huge points, as it makes it a two possession game.

Penalties have been both a blessing and a curse this game. Tons have been in favor but a bunch of sloppy O-line penalties too, especially from veterans.

BG gets beat over the top and gives up a long touchdown. Still leading 10-7 but they have to figure out offense quick.

Another turnover! Lorfils forces the fumble and BG has great field position.

But the offense capitalizes by moving backwards. Really bad by Pyne. You know it’s rough with the announcers are talking about how bad your reads are.
