I agree. Pete is problematic in that way. I’d like to see him back, but it’s not like he’s the answer to all our problems.

He is great at scooping balls in the dirt and getting to balls hit within diving distance. But he has no range and he can’t throw.

Pete has been pretty clear that he doesn’t want to DH. He’s proud of the work he’s put in to improve his defense, even if he is considered a liability there by pretty much everyone. I’d be happy with him at DH, but it’s a hard sell.

The 50 year mortgage means endless interest payments on a home you will never own.

I f’ing hate gerrymandering and think it should be unconstitutional. But if the fascists are trying to destroy democracy, I sure hope Democrats will use every trick in the book to stop them.

This from the guy who pushed through the biggest tax cut for the rich in American history .

I can understand why a guy who just got a pay package good for up to a trillion dollars wouldn’t want to be bothered with something as non-remunerative as empathy.

No wonder he’s so against taxation .

I still believe Newspapers should publish a diversity of opinions, even when I fiercely disagree with them. And, damn, did I fiercely disagree with this one.

I didn’t even know he was on the team, and I’m as rabid as Mets fan as they come.

A person will believe just about anything where there’s a profit to be made. Slavery was very profitable. Keeping black folks (and women) as a permanent underclass is profitable. Convincing folks it’s because they’re stupid is part of the plan.

Both parties have elements that centrists feel uncomfortable with. For the Dems, it’s LGBTQ (especially T) and Democratic Socialists, for the GOP it’s neo-Nazis and would-be Dictators.

That is to say: everyone gets stiffed, the company (USA) goes bankrupt, and he gets off Scott-free.

Xitter is probably still the better site for sportsβ€”especially breaking sports news. I say probably because I haven’t been there since Musk tortured it into an evil Orc .

He is appealing to those who are deepest into the cult. If he said black was white and up was down, they would nod their heads in agreement, with their mouths hanging open.

San Antonio has always had a knack for finding the superstar big man. They always seem to suck at just the right time.

If Pete (and Schwarber) goes elsewhere, Naylor becomes my #1 target. But I trust Stearns has a better sense of internal options and possible targets.

It’s going to be a long and very interesting offseason.

I doubt we can steal Schwarber from Philly, but I’m all for it. If we can do that, I’d target Josh Naylor or one of the Japanese FA (Murakami or Okamoto).
