Separation of church and state was meant to protect freedom for EVERYONE. This was not a memorial…it was a political rally fused with religious absolutism, the hallmark of authoritarian movements. When faith becomes the entry ticket we’ve already lost what the founders fought for.

Refusing to mourn someone is not the same thing as celebrating their death. We can condemn political violence without pretending a person’s legacy was honorable.

Crime in D.C. is at a 30-year low. Trump’s “emergency” isn’t about safety…it’s political theater and a distraction. He’s trying to look tough while pulling focus from his own legal troubles. If he cared about keeping the city safe, he wouldn’t have stoked the Jan 6 attack in the first place.

Remember when Trump said he wasn’t going to be a wartime president?
