What if I fail in finding my way back?
What if I cannot fulfill my calling?
With many foundations I seem to lack,
No wonder I spend so much time bawling.

I just want a life that I can sustain.
One that is much more peaceful and humane.

It can feel like my brain is on fire
And my soul feels like it’s shredded to bits.
This episode has been the most dire—
I worry this is as good as it gets.

’m in the deepest burnout of my life.
Most of what I do is lay and languish.
I seem to repeat this cycle of strife
Unable to escape total anguish.

Trauma and madness have eroded me.
My autism often makes life too hard.
Living seems to come at such a high fee;
My nervous system is always on guard.
