In a time as thisโ€” I am deeply thankful to be blessed with this honor. As a scientist and educator, the NSF CAREER award allows me to integrate the very core of who I am as a scientist and educator.

Forever grateful to past and present members of my lab for helping me accomplish this dream.

In a fun and engaging manner, @kcox-bioguy.bsky.social shared how we can use expansion microscopy to effectively study stress responses in duckweed! What I really loved was how his lab organizes various outreach activities to make such complex mechanisms easier to young students! #aspb #pb2025

Unlocking expanded flagellin perception through rational receptor engineering - Nature Plants Receptor kinase FLS2 detects the flg22 epitope of bacterial flagellin. Excited this paper is finally published! We focused on the inner concave surface of LRR RKs to expand bacterial flagellin perception in plants. Selection indicates expanded perception is more common than previously thought. Experiments led by @jerrytli.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Didn't have the bandwidth to travel internationally for #2025ISMPMI, but I would have liked to share our biophysics story on Ralstonia's goopy biofilms.

Most biofilms are sticky, but #Ralstonia makes a unique exopolysaccharide that makes their biofilms highly mobile.
