I spent 3 nights in a hospital hallway and it is by far the most dehumanizing experience of my life. I literally felt like medical road kill. One night in emergency hall was terrifying. For older patients it would cause delusion. Not healthcare, it’s stacking.

No it doesn’t and the US spends far more than ONE trillion. But it’s a significant start that has no impact on Americans.

Here, healthcare, education, most transportation laws, are all provincially governed. In education, my field, we have diverse models and practices to share and learn from.

1% of a trillion is 10 billion, the US spends more than that overall. But ⬇️ admin costs, ⬇️ drug costs, etc. offset some of the costs of UHC. Plus, ⬆️ productivity :)

Americans pay far more for services than you’d pay elsewhere. Example: as a non-resident, you pay 6-10K/day hospitalized BUT that covers everything except toiletries like soap. Evry consult, X-ray, meds, etc is included.

In Canada, Ontario, you need a referral from your primary caregiver, usually your family doctor, that you choose. They’ll have access to doctors from their region, but for very rare cases, you could be sent to Toronto.
