It seems a lot of the discourse was focused on public consumption and one way to put a pin in that is to bylaws addressing just that... There are provinces in Canada where you cannot consume cannabis at all in public. Therefore, whether it is legal or not in public, the point is moot.

The sky did not fall in Canada when cannabis was legalized. It was done with intention with appropriate legislation and regulations and authorities given to provinces to take further measures such as public consumption.

You're misunderstanding Carney's appeal to Canadians. Just because he's a "worldly" guy doesn't dock off points - for me at least. It adds to it. He is internationally connected and in order for Canada to broaden relationships we need to have someone who understands global possibilities.

Huh? I never debated that Canada is orienting away from the US. That's quite obvious. What isn't obvious is Starmer/UK being interested in pivoting from the US, and for any support to Canada.

I can only hope there's a lot more coordination happening behind doors and in hallways than it seems... The way Starmer has brutally dismissed Canada publicly any time he's asked doesn't give me warm and fuzzies he's playing the long game.
