Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing? 2? Questions I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up. Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?

If anyone needs me I will be in the museum, lying down next to the bog bodies.

6 weeks post surgery and waiting for oncotype test results. If it’s good news - straight to radiotherapy. Otherwise, chemo then radio. Then 5-10 years of meds. What fun.

Yeah. I’m not slim (a bit heavier than I ought to be) but it’d be nice to be going for vague symmetry. Not whatever this is. Ah well. Once active treatment is done, roll on the surgery to even them up!

Am 7 weeks out from first surgery and once I get through the other active treatment, cannot wait to get the second (non-cancery one) lifted and shifted so I’m not so ridiculously wonky. Fingers crossed yours all goes smoothly.

Seal looked forward to every single day. Even if it was a fleeting moment, or hard to see at first, something always filled her with joy. Going on an adventure, feeling a tingle of sea air on her whiskers, sunbathing or just bobbing in the water; there was always joy to be found.

I had absolutely no restrictions on my reading choices as a kid. It was great!!

Talking about menopause because we must.

I had a myomectomy at 31, perimenopause at 39, hysterectomy at 42, and entered menopause @ 47 this year.

I've never been pregnant, but my sisters have 3 kids each. We've had many terrible OB/GYN experiences. And the culture avoids openly talking about this!
