29.01.2026 14:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0A big thank you to @jimmeruk.bsky.social aka @jimmer.art for making me the owner of an original artwork. Yes, that’s right! A drawing of telly’s Bob Holness with a pillar box growing out of his head. OBVIOUSLY
29.01.2026 14:58 — 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Oh no I feel awful for them
29.01.2026 14:39 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes, only when I watched the advert again did I remember it's smooth on the inside, but never mind. These ones are my favourite, obviously

29.01.2026 13:09 — 👍 20 🔁 1 💬 5 📌 0Hadn’t heard of that. Jazz is an area of almost complete ignorance for me, I’m afraid
29.01.2026 12:56 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. I likes armadillos

29.01.2026 12:32 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It suprised me when I first researched it
29.01.2026 12:06 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes, a couple of people have mentioned it. Intriguing
29.01.2026 12:06 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0From a JRF report out this week. The following slide in the presentation said scrapping the two-child ‘benefit cap’ will help (poverty projected to fall back to that 20% line), but if nothing else happens, it will plateau there. More detail on the report...
29.01.2026 11:22 — 👍 3 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Joseph Rowntree Foundation slide titled ‘Poverty rates rose dramatically under Margaret Thatcher’s administration, and have not seen sustained falls in over 20 years’ shows poverty rates fluctuating around 15% under Wilson, Heath, Wilson again, and Callaghan, then rising sharply under Thatcher and hovering around 25% under Major. A fall under Blair to 20%, but then rising again towards the end of Blair’s time in office and fluctuating around the low 20s ever since (apart from a brief drop towards 20% again during Covid, when Universal Credit was increased)
Not the cheeriest graph I’ve ever seen. Good work under Blair, at least in the first two terms, but not enough to undo the effects of one in particular of his predecessors

29.01.2026 09:50 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Thank you! I didn't know about the ballet (or the Omar Sharif/Catherine Deneuve film, which a couple of people have mentioned). Difficult to get the tone right when telling the story, so I'm intrigued whether either manages it (maybe it's easier through dance, being wordless?)
