10.12.2025 10:21 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yes! Extraordinary. Although why just stick it on a mannequin when you can wear it to breakfast?
10.12.2025 10:21 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes, I think that covers it
10.12.2025 10:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Hahahaha

10.12.2025 09:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Um... @heawood.bsky.social - you like property listings, don't you?
10.12.2025 09:54 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes (to both points). Admirable. In its way

[They exchange glances. Nothing further is said.]
I hadn’t thought of that. Always imagined them being unchanging, but I guess they do have to be dusted…
10.12.2025 09:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Ha! How weird. Thinking of books in the US, though, this British 1980s novel has been reissued over there but not here, and is wonderfully odd. If you like Comyns and Sylvia TW, it may appeal
10.12.2025 09:09 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Reading Andrew Miller’s ‘The Crossing’. Lead character Maud is at the posh boyfriend’s family home: “On the piano, the photographs are arranged in tilted rows like a solar farm.”
It’s full of precise, authentic details like that, and I’ve rattled through two thirds of it in a couple of days
Oh, yes! She’s also fabulous, of course. Can recommend Lolly Willowes (her first) if you haven’t already read it
10.12.2025 08:58 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I do not get it.
I do not trust anyone who says they like this film.
Saying it's your favourite Christmas film is like saying New York Ripper is your favourite Donald Duck film.

Sisters by a River, Our Spoons Came from Woolworths, and Who Was Changed and Who Was Dead - all really good. ‘Spoons’ is semi-autobiographical, so has a different feel to the others, but they all have that ability of hers to cover quite dark subjects with an almost flippant tone. I loved them all!
10.12.2025 08:35 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0I’ve read three of hers this year, having only discovered her in January, but not that one. Now I know where to head next…
10.12.2025 07:55 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Fair point. There was some groaning

This felt like a remarkable bit to me
10.12.2025 07:41 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Blimey. I’m so glad I didn’t have to do that, either as a child or a parent
