The Supreme Court tells you: bring him home. A judge orders: where is he andwhat are doing to bring him home? Deafening silence. Conspiracy theories are not me (old and decrepit, but my training is still there). but this time I'll bet you.

When interstellar gas (mostly Hydrogen) is energized by nearby stars, it glows. This particular one is called the Pac Man nebula because of its shape. This is a large gas cloud of ionized hydrogen. Scattered around there are regions of star formation (called Bok globules) .

Orange Traitor and Nazi Musk criticized Biden for the 2 Nasa astronauts having to spend unplanned time in orbit due to the Boeing Starliner craft's issues. The "rescue" mission from SpaceX has now been postpones due to "hydraulic issues". Yep, Musk (and Trump) are full of liquid (brown liquid).

To the MAGA crowd: since your choice took office, he created chaos, pissed off Canadians (that is hard to do) and, as expected, he fucked up my retirement account. At this pace, I will have lost 50% of it in a year. May he rot in hell. And you too.

Persons of Arab descent in PA, MI, and WI: you did not vote for Harris because she was soft on Israel. Now His Orangeness of Doom wants to deport all your Brethren out of Gaza. Would you care to comment about your lack of understanding? Do you like the nose you cut off your face to despise it?

The Leo triplet
Due to the formation mechanism, galaxies form groups in which many galaxies are nearby each other. โ€œNearbyโ€ is a relative term, as distances are gigantic. In this case, however, we can actually see three galaxies together. The location of this group is in the Constellation of Leo the Lyon, hence the moniker.
These are 3 spiral galaxies seen under different perspectives. Top right is M65 (object number 65 of the catalog of objects described by Charles Messier), bottom right is M66. M65 was catalogued by Messier in 1780. M66 was also discovered in 1780. On the left we see NGC 3628, known as the Hamburger galaxy. A more genteel name for it is Sarahโ€™s galaxy and was NOT discovered by Messier but by William Herschel in 1784.

Approximately 10,000years ago a star went Supernova in the general direction of the Constellation of Cygnus the swan. The shock waves of the explosion can still be seen today, as they twist and swirl the interstellar matter. This image was acquired trough narrow band filters that are attuned to Hydrogen (Red) and Oxygen (blue). Seen this way, it sorta looks like a Bat (hence the name). But turn your heard to the right about 90 dgrees and you'll see..." scary dude laughing with no teeth". Somehow, you will not find it as an official name for NGC 6995...

This pair of star is resolved easily with a modest telescope but it appears as a single star with the naked eye. It represents, in the Constellation of Cygnus the swan, the head of a swan in flight. It is not known if these two stars are actually near each other of if it is just a trick of perspective. Regardless, it is a classing example of stars having ...colors!

#astrophoto Cygnus the Swan is a staple of summer skies. At its head there is a star, Albireo. In a telescope it resolves as a double star, with a striking color difference between the two components. It is unknown if these two star are actually orbiting each other. I find it pretty!

M33 or Triangulum Galaxy is the second closest galaxy to the Milky way, the first being the Andromeda Galaxy. The Milky way, Andromeda and M33 are part of the called Local Group of Galaxies, which has approximately 50 galaxies. M33 is the third largest, after Andromeda and the Milky way. This is a LRGB image, showing many areas of Star formation in the arms.

#astrophotos Constellations names are...arbitrary. For example, look at Canis Minor (little dog). WHY? In the case of Triangulum (triangle) things makes sense. Within this constellation we have M33, AKA The Triangulum Galaxy. It is called a flocculent spiral galaxy. Seems appropriate...

In the constellation of Cygnus-the swan there is an area, appearing as approximately the size of three full moon side-by-side, in which one can observe a Supernova remnant (SNR). The SNR in question is a rough circle in which the shock waves from the explosion excited interstellar material making it glow. This circle is called the Cygnus loop. A portion of the loop is represented here and given its location, is called, between other names, as the Western Veil nebula. The bright star in its center is 52 Cygni.

#astrophotos The Sombrero Galaxy (aka M 104 or NGC 4594) is of uncertain classification, as it has characteristics of an elliptical galaxy (no arms) and of a spiral, with prominent dust lanes. It is a odd duck! Regardless, it is โ€ฆpretty ๐Ÿ˜Š. Do I need to explain why it is called the Sombrero Galaxy?
