The good/bad news is that everything is crumbling.
The good/bad news is that we need to figure out what kind of society to build next.
And we all need to start imagining that "next" now.
New blog post just dropped. As you can probably tell from the title, I'm being super subtle. Very diplomatic. My take on the shaping force of worldview & the impossibility of remaining apolitical.

Oh hai, Bluesky! I kinda forgot this app existed.
Watched Sinners last night, and omg what an amazing movie! Definitely the kind of film that lives in your mind long after the end credits are done.
Pride in DC.
This is what patriotism looks like - marching toward the Capitol with pride, purpose, and the promise of liberty for all.

It also reminded me of an essay a friend shared about AI and how it supports the far right. (Link here: newsocialist.org.uk/transmission...)
Parkrose highlights human artists in her video & I think that's important too. Human vs AI. A more human-friendly way of living vs Tech dystopia.
I keep thinking about a vid by @parkroseperma.bsky.social about the need for artists in the movement. She's 100% right. Art is important, and not only for marketing purposes. It can also help us to envision futures and ways of being outside of the neoliberal box.
Imagination -> innovation.

It makes me wonder about the internal convos about Iran, because between this and Rick Scott going on TV talking about how we "need" to destroy Iran because of nukes, I'm going to be watching this one closely.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with that one. People forget that checks and balances only work if the people in the positions to enforce them actually do so.

He also has expert manipulators too. But I think people have consistently underestimated him since he first showed up, and that's a mistake.

Here we have "Minerva Dictating The Constitution To Young America" (a motif that apparently appears in a few places in DC), and the Minerva from the Library of Congress, her Medusa-adorned shield down to signify peace.

Few people are aware that Liberty locks eyes with a statue of Minerva, an armored goddess of war and the arts, at Green-Wood cemetery in Brooklyn.
Without Liberty, what is left?
Interesting how the response to that question is the same for circumstances and statuary alike.
I don't think we'll make it to an election before it all kicks off. I think we're talking weeks, not months.
