A white 1988 Lotus Esprit with a red arrow pointing to a styling feature on the front of the car.

I love the vast majority of what Peter Stevens did to freshen the Esprit's styling, but this step has always bugged me. Julian Thomson and Russell Carr kept it for their updates as well.

It emphasizes the bumper too much and gives the nose an awkward underbite at odds with the car's wedge shape. 😕
