All of it. We deliberately set out with a vision to offer an alternative to a large American owned organisation with questionable human rights activities using pure EU infrastructure. You were the final piece of the puzzle.

Although all our infrastructure is EU owned and situated, the irony was, we have still been using Google to develop and browse our own app.

We fixed that and switched to @vivaldi.com browser.

5/ to ensure that we use a comments plugin owned and run by an EU company with no free tier so that they don't need to track you to make money !

4/ as always, feedback is really appreciated. We created an ethical alternative so people who want to play the word game, but don't like using infrastructure owned by billionaires or want to have themselves forever tracked, could continue to do so. We hope you'll like it and think about switching.

3/ to minimise cheating, words are revealed after the last country has experienced midnight. Games still rollover at midnight local time, its just the word reveal that uses a central reveal time.

Yes, it might be a pain to wait a bit if you lose, but we are trying to remain ethical and consistent !

2/ We have now added a results page where you can see at a glance the basic win stats for the last 30 days, or can manually pick a date.

Clicking on a tile here, or clicking on your local stats, will take you to the full stats page for that word.

1/ After a long week, we have finally pushed a new version of #qbits.today.

This was a major stack update to provide better maintainability and was the reason why the new features took us longer to roll out that we had hoped

After a week of testing we have fixed the issue of sharing on mobile

We also took on board feedback and removed the countdown in the individual results page. Countdown is (as we were told) is for anticipation, not for factual information.

We also added a simple button to go straight to a game.

Today we are working on the main results page. This has been the cause of some arguments in the team as to whether the top stat cards should be a different colour(s).

We also decided not to reveal the blurred word on hover forcing click through.

Its in the bio. Its goal is a more ethical alternative to a certain other word guessing game. With different UI, UX and EU only infrastructure. Also some nice characters !

You're right, thanks. We originally had a simple message with no stats if the word was not yet available, with a simple "unlock " time. Maybe that's better. Its not really meant for anticipation or friction, just information.

A slight modification to the design and UX. The word won't show until the end of midnight, but we can show the stats. And you get a countdown until you can see the word.

We need to make money to keep the servers running. So we intend to limit advertising to EU based (non Google ads) companies and ONLY an interstitial video ad if you want a hint.

For now, we have zero ads. We want you to love the qbits and give us feedback.

If you're English vocabulary is not great, use this to force a response after 4 invalid words

The default! Invalid words are not allowed.

Letters used that are not in the solution are disabled. You cannot try a random word with them to check a guess

** WARNING ** This mode is possible, but statistically improbable. This is not for the faint hearted. Get it, and you'll really earn your stripes The only feedback you get are green and orange "pins". Green = You have a letter in the correct place (somewhere) Orange = You have a correct letter but in the wrong place

#qbits.today has 4 different levels of difficulty. You can select from "easy", "default", "hard" and "pins".

Pins mode is a true Cows and Bulls style feedback making it only for those who are not faint of heart !

We just added a share button from the game page and added a sharing button to the list of previous games.

The thing about #qbits.today is that we don't store your data. We don't use ethically unsound infrastructure and we don't use Google ads, or analytics so Google can't track you via our app !

Is that a deal breaker? We were hoping to delay feedback of that by a day to avoid people cheating by posting it. So the idea would be to go to stats the next day and look at the word which would have downloaded by them. But you have been so kind to check it out, we are more than happy to reconsider
