Last up is a crime comedy with an amazing cast including Helen Mirren and Pirece Brosnan. It's based on a book of the same name by Richard Osman.
Highest 2 Lowest (August 22, dir. Spike Lee)
We've got a crime thriller starring Denzel Washington! This one is based on High and Low (1963) directed by Akira Kursosawa, which is based on the book King's Ransom by Ed McBain.
Freakier Friday (August 8, dir. Nisha Ganatra)
Another sequel, this fantasy comedy brings back Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsey Lohan. The original movie is based on the book Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers.
The Bad Guys 2 (August 1, dir. Pierre Perifel)
Starting strong, we have an animated heist comedy with the likes of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, and Craig Robinson. This is based on the graphic novel series The Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey

Was Robert Pattinson the right person to play Jacob in Water for Elephants? We're not going to dish on him, but here's the thing...in the book, Jacob is a redhead. So, here are 3 red-haired actors I think could have played Jacob!

She's also referred to herself as a mother and daughter! When people speculated if she was a man, she called it out as sexism too. It's unlikely this is like Dean Koontz using pen names like Deanna Dwyer, or something like that. I think she's a great addition to the list!

I used to think horror films scared me, then I started watching them and they don't really get to me like I thought they did. I watched The Exorcist for the first time recently and my husband was talking about how it still creeps him out and I was like 🤷♀️

Annihilation is based on a book of the same name which, uncommonly, features several unnamed main characters. It's a pretty bold movie and is so easy to get wrong...

Remember Charles Murdoch? We briefly mentioned him during out Water for Elephants episode. But the story is so much bigger than we had time for.
Sara Gruen gave up so much in hopes that the justice system would reconsider an interesting trial--to say the least.
