            He boarded the Titanic en route to the Michigan Copperbelt. Frederick did not survive the sinking. However, during his visit in Cornwall, his wife, Cecilia, became pregnant. Their son, named Frederick James Banfield in memory of his father, was born in November 1912 and lived to be 89 years old.

            Titanic Tales: Frederick James Banfield was a young miner from Cornwall. Only a month after his marriage in 1907, he left England to find work in the US. He traveled to Nevada to work as a mining engineer. In December 1911, he returned home to visit family.

            Mini #art gallery I created. It was fun and challenging to work at such a tiny scale. Sometimes I had to take a break because my hand would start to shake.
