I just got on LinkedIn the question why the term 'plant science' took over from botany. Not knowing the answer, but always seen it as two separated but related fields, I looked up the definition of botany, finding it and plant science are one and the same. My question to you👇

Se você olha com seriedade pra IA como ferramenta, a utilização dela é consequência e não um fim em si mesmo. Deveria se investir R$23 em políticas públicas em tecnologia nacional, pra enfrentar a crise climática... Fazer da utilização de IA uma prioridade é rifar tudo isso pro capital estrangeiro.

It's worse than that! We both know non-coding DNA has several roles. But they're saying that non-coding DNA explains why proteomic features can't be inferred from DNA sequence!

Does this sentence from the abstract make sense to any (molecular) biologist out there?

"However, a striking revelation from DNA sequencing is that over 95% of human DNA does not specify a protein, which means tremendous proteomic information cannot be predicted from the genome".

O podcast de trabalhos científicos (paper, PDF) é realmente extraordinário. O casal de "apresentadores" transforma o trabalho mais chato do mundo em algo bem interessante.

As someone who started listening to Huberman's podcast some years ago, the real scientific content it provides has been steadily decaying since ~2023. Last year (I've just checked my podcast aggregator) I wasn't able to finish one single episode.
