Hey @polykillpodcast.bsky.social I #justbeatit Garfield Kart: Furious Racing! I've been hearing so much about this new kart racer that came out so I had to give it a try. I don't understand all the hubbub but it's alright I guess. No real beat criteria so I cleared all 150cc Grand Prix's. Lasagna.

156) Yars Rising

This ended up being a really fun MetroidVania style game. The gameplay is great and the game has an awesome soundtrack. The only two things I didn’t like were the frustrating hacking mini-games and the difficulty spikes near the end.

I finally finished Guardians of the Galaxy last night! This game is completely unrated and needs more people talking about it! The humor and story telling are on point and combat is fun, expecially when the game Rick Rolls you during the final boss. #JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Later Alligator is a joyful comedy game disguised as a detective visual novel. Each interaction feels unique and some offer minigames. On the surface it feels a little juvenile but some of the jokes hit deep. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

148) Kid Chameleon

I’ve tried to beat this game multiple times throughout the years but I always got stuck a quarter of the way through so this time I used a cheat code to skip some levels. The game is still really hard and the final boss was frustrating.

The shooter mechanics are elite, but the campaign is short and spends too much time on stealth and spy segments between action sequences. Needs more shooting in a longer campaign. 7/10.

150) Sea of Stars

Here’s my final game for the Indiequest square. This was a fantastic RPG. Everything was amazing from the story, environments, and gameplay. Apparently there’s true ending to do as well so it looks like my time with this game isn’t over yet

#justbeatit BurgerTime Deluxe (Data East, GB port of arcade original). I’ve never played this one before; it’s deceptively simple. In later levels careful path-planning and enemy grouping strategies are essential. Hesitate and you’ll quickly fall to an errant pickle. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Planet of Lana is clearly borrowing from one of my favorite games, Inside, but it does a pretty good job of doing so. It’s pretty and it’s fun to have a lil companion. Puzzles were a little on the easy side @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

At first I abandoned Rising Hell after 1 hour, but I gave it another serious chance, which let it climb from C+ to B+ on my rogues tier list after I #JustBeatIt. The game shines with its various challenges, but is very tough for me since I'm bad at jumping up constantly. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#justbeatit Link’s Awakening (Switch). I truly appreciate many of the Zelda-type puzzles & exploration yet I had to consult guides more than I would have liked. Visuals are great. I do wish switching between items would be easier. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (Series X)
I put 142 hours into this excellent update of a classic. Impressive visual updates and quality of life improvements stand out. It’s not perfect, but a much more accessible version. 4.5/5⭐️ #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.170 Gouketuji Ichizoku (MD). I played the SNES version (Power Instinct) last year. The MD version is just as good. A solid 2D fighter with smooth controls,great character variety, and impressive visuals. A lesser-known title that deserves more recognition.

I’ve played the other two games in the series but I’ve never played the first game until now. The game looks visually for its time and the gameplay is fun but tricky in some levels. I’ve used a couple of cheat codes in this game for the bingo square

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.164 Mobile Suite Gundam Seed - Battle Assault (GBA). Another pretty good one. The moveset is limited, but the sprites and animations look nice, as do the backgrounds. The game plays fast, and the story segments in between are a nice touch. Worth a play!

Iconoclasts (switch 2) nice mix of combat and puzzles, awesome pixel art. The story is a bit convoluted but lands decently. There are lots of collectibles to go after but no real motivation to because the system that uses them has very minimal impact. 7.5/10

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.160 Street Fighter Alpha 2 (SNES). I'm not a big Street Fighter fan, but man is this game good. The sprites are excellent, the controls are smooth and the game plays fast. Despite some loading times, it's an impressive arcade port. Be sure to check it out!

144) Mr. Driller: Drill Land

This was my first time playing a Mr. Driller game and I ended up having a lot of fun with it. Most of the mini-games were really great. And I also love the whole anime vibe the game gives off from both art style and music.
