This one ended up being worse than the SNES version. Mainly due to the fact that for some reason they made the high jump it’s own separate button so if you go into the game blind you won’t know why your can’t reach the higher platforms

#justbeatit Zombies Ate My Neighbors—on PS4 with a save feature—for my first bingo on the @polykillpodcast.bsky.social board. This may be the game I put the most time into as a kid without ever beating; a friend and I rented it over and over and always lost by level 30. It was always fun, even so.

This was a great entry in the series as well a great culmination of the original Mortal Kombat. The fact that you can play as the original boss characters is worth the price of admission alone.

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.223 Beast Busters (ARC). A chaotic, fast-paced arcade shooter that mixes zombie horror with military action. Visuals and sound show their age, but belasting zombies and monsters is always fun. A gritty relic of coin-op excess.

One step greater in complexity is Star Battle. Same rules but TWO stars, which is a surprisingly different experience. Same outcome, #JustBeatIt 's Med & Difficult puzzles too.

#justbeatit R-Type (game boy)

Stage 4 has been the bane since I was a child. It was almost literally a wall. But thanks to save states I could learn to beat it. The rest of the game was a cakewalk, even the surprising 2nd loop! Impressive game for the time. Classic!

This was a fantastic sequel. Pretty much everything that I didn’t like from the last game was reworked to make this game a lot of fun. This game definitely has the Kojima charm with how many bizarre things he’s added here.

Since I grew up watching this long forgotten movie I figured I’d try out tie-in game. The game itself was okay, it starts out pretty easy but the gets difficult near the end. There were just some level gimmicks I wasn’t a fan of.

The Cabin Factory gave me the chills at weird spots. I honestly shit my pants. My gf had to help me out looking for things moving. If so the cabin is haunted and you must run out. Together we were able to say haunted or safe correctly 8 times in a row and so #JustBeatIt. @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

She loved Super Mario Bros, she thought Bubble Bobble was just OK, but she helped me #JustBeatIt on her first ever TMNT game, Turtles in Time. Fellas, we created a beat-em-up fan! Cowabunga out of 5.

Baby Steps is absolutely brilliant.

Every step is one step away from a set back, but choosing to get back up and continue on in spite of it all, that's what counts.

The best this genre has to offer.
Fair but brutally challenging.

And, it's hilarious.

207) Ghost of Yōtei

I absolutely loved this sequel. The revenge story was fantastic and the core gameplay is so much fun. The game also does a great job of making you invested in the side content with all the items and skills you can unlock.

Up Left Out is a somewhat abstract mobile sliding tile puzzle game, but it has a tactile quality and intuitive rules and I #JustBeatIt. Not an all-timer, but a nice vibe and an okay way to pass a bit of time.

Goat Simulator 3 was a amazingly fun sandbox game. They took everything that made Goat Sim 1 great & improved upon it. The little nods to different movies and games made me laugh quite a few times. Its a goat for sandbox ragdoll titles for me. 5/5 #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Another Classic Konami Arcade game. I would have loved this game coop back in the day. Fun solo, but play with friends if you can. 4.5/5⭐️

#JustBeatIt @polykillpodcast.bsky.social No.212 Zombie Raid (ARC). While obviously best played with an actual light gun, it's still fun blowing up zombies to a bloody pulp. Mind, the level design is repetitive, and enemy variety is limited. Regardless, it’s still a strong horror arcade experience.
