CSOs can support public prosecutors to hold corporations accountable for climate impacts by documenting and providing evidence of harm. @redesjdh.bsky.social, a SAGE grantee, provided evidence in a case that led to the conviction of a land grabber for burning 1,500 hectares of the Brazilian Cerrado.

Exploitation of workers in DR Congo taints electric vehicles New research released today reveals dire conditions, discrimination and extremely low pay at some of the world’s largest industrial cobalt mines in DRC.

Updating their 2021 report, the SAGE grantees found that despite surging demand for critical minerals, tens of thousands of Congolese mine workers – especially those hired via subcontractors – remain trapped in poverty, face abuse and often work in unsafe conditions.
