We are deeply concerned by the smear campaign targeting
CIAM Panama, for their tireless work in bringing international visibility to the serious environmental and human rights impacts of the Cobre Panama mine, and advocating for corporate accountability.

Tell Pan American Silver to respect the Xinka People's rights
This "no" is not negotiable. A Guatemalan court ordered the government to consult with the Xinka People over the future of Pan American Silver's Escobal mine. This May, the Xinka People said no to the reopening of the mine and called for it to be closed permanently.

"Vinimos a decirle a Canadá que el pueblo xinka ha decidido que no quiere que continúe la empresa minera en nuestro territorio y pedimos el cierre definitivo", dijo Marisol Guerra, una de las dos delegadas xinkas de paso por Canadá.

Huge march in Cuenca, Ecuador today to protect water and say no yet again to Dundee Precious Metals' Loma Larga mine project that has threatened water, high moorlands known as Kimsacocha and the health of downstream rural and urban people for over twenty years. Hands off Kimsacocha! Cuenca says no!

Justice now for the brutal murder of Honduran environment defender Juan López, brutally murdered one year ago today as he was leaving church for standing up against corruption and mining in Tocoa. The intellectual authors of this vile crime must be held to account!

This was not in self defense and drug smuggling is not a capital offense. These are extrajudicial killings — mass murder on the high seas illegally ordered by the President of the United States. US service personnel do not get to play judge, jury, and executioner.

Breaking!
City of Burnaby just became first city in Canada to join arms embargo movement against Israel AND the first Apartheid-Free City, breaking ties with Israeli apartheid and settler colonialism.
We've been organizing for months towards this precedent in colonial Canada.
