These days we have a pretty good idea if there’s severe weather several days in advance.

I think we need to have a culture of being weather aware in the US. Too many people walk around completely oblivious.
Especially those who are parents or look after someone who’s outside during a thunderstorm

Yeah it’s an interesting debate. People become over reliant on them and expect to be able to hear them at night or when the wind is blowing. Not to mention most of them are 50+ years old and don’t work anymore.
