Two Northstar locomotives idling at Big Lake station. There is a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and a cloudy sky as the train waits to depart.

A closer view of the train consist. There are 5 cars behind the two locomotives, and the platform has been cleared of ice and snow. The display sign has an incorrect date and time of "5:01 AM, January 1st, 2025" despite it being January 4th.

Today was a rather bittersweet day as my friends and I got to ride the Northstar train for the last time. Had a lot of fun meeting and chatting with people and experiencing the ride. Although the Northstar went away, maybe in the future we'll someday get better train travel in MN, but we'll see. :)
