Hundreds of people gathered at a vigil for Alex Pretti organized by a coalition of labor unions just outside of the Minneapolis V.A. Medical Center on Sunday evening. Pretti, 37, of Minneapolis, was shot and killed by Customs and Border Protection agents on January 24.

This is the largest winter bike ride I’ve been in so far since I’ve moved here. Estimated 1500-2000 people.

🧵ICE's tactics for arresting and holding observers and protestors is ever-shifting, and I'm hearing lots of different stories. Right now, my perspective is that these are your best practices:

It feels so weird but so good to be greeted by a fluffy, pointed-ear creature with paws, as well as a sign that says this is private property.

Just landed at MSP. No ICE visible at baggage claim or at Concourse G. Now waiting for baggage claim. Wow, I’ve never seen it this busy before.

West coast trip was restorative but also anxiety inducing because of events going on. I fly back to MSP today. 🤞
