Lorne Gunter: Classroom complexity finally getting attention it deserves — Edmonton Journal In Edmonton public schools, 34 per cent of classrooms have “high complexity,” meaning 11 or more students with complex needs.

This is the first reasonable story I’ve seen on this. Anyone who’s tried to teach knows that even one student with higher needs poses a challenge to the group. It doesn’t take 11 to make a classroom complex.

That’s the way it’s done. Rule of law for the win!

When I first moved to Japan in the early 90s, I wrote home about the shock of paying about $1 US for an individual fruit, tomato, or potato. I was shocked some months later to receive a care package from my dad, complete with KD, instant potatoes and velveeta! Not necessary but hero dad!

And give up potatoes! 🤣

When I was shoveling this morning, the wind was blowing so hard I couldn’t see where to throw the snow!

This goes across all of society. We were doing the best we could to carry on with a new and unexpected situation. It was not made up to victimize any individual or group. Most of us pulled together to keep society running as well as possible. Surely a diminished school experience > the alternative.
