U.K. to Raise Defense Spending to 2.5% of G.D.P. by 2027, Starmer Says (Gift Article) Prime Minister Keir Starmer set out a timeline to increase British spending on defense, now 2.3 percent. He is scheduled to meet with President Trump this week.

Buried lede: The UK is cutting development aid by 40%.

"Mr. Starmer said the change would be funded by cutting overseas development aid from 0.5 percent of gross domestic product to 0.3 percent, adding that he regretted the reduction."

Ugh.

Optimally Generate Policy-Based Evidence Before Scaling Social scientists have increasingly turned to the experimental method to understand human behavior. One critical issue that makes solving social problems difficult is "scaling" the idea from

One thing I notice is that Google Docs are easier to share. Gmail reminds you to share access when sending links; you can ask for access to a file instead of Box telling you it doesn't exist; you can easily see who has what kind of access.
