Then there is the Biomedical Science Program at MSU where we took extra students this year... and had to shorten rotation periods so that we could pay for it. Not sure how 30% more students will find labs when so many are already financially strapped.

Not enough characters on here to explain it, but science is in a dire position and it seems increasingly unlikely to change.

this is due to a combination of (a) having a wayyy bigger than expected incoming class and (b) the state of federal funding

as much as it sucks, it's important to be transparent about where we stand. hopefully other departments will follow
