After the kick-off meeting of our project, we visited the Marine Robotics Centre of VLIZ and had a look at the machinery necessary for off-shore automated eDNA sampling.

We officially kicked-off eDNA-OPTIMA. In this project, we deploy samplers on a USV, improve detection of benthic invertebrates, aim to understand how eDNA is transported by ocean currents, etc.
