I enjoyed chatting with Stephen Colbert on "The Late Show."

My thoughts on how we save our democracy are the same today as when we last spoke on "The Colbert Report" in 2010.

We must get big money out of politics.

My optimism about our ability to save our democracy comes from my experience. No matter how broken or bruised our democracy is today, I have seen it work and I know it can work again. I have seen the power of collective action. I know it can save us now.

As we resist Trump’s tyranny, America gains solidarity.

As we gain solidarity, we feel more courageous.

As we feel courageous and stand up to Trump, we weaken him and his regime.

As we weaken Trump and his regime, we have less to fear.
