Yesterday the ‘doodle’ showing the two selected shapes used for the start of the design. Today the finished painting.

For the next finished painting I had found these two ‘doodles’ on a same page in a recent sketchbook. I placed them side by side and started the worksheet to develop a design.
Finished painting tomorrow.

Going though a portfolio book to do a little reorganizing and came upon this long ago drawing. Did a bunch of small simple line drawings back then.

While rearranging and hanging some artwork on the walls, this one (as a framed print) offered some fond memories when I created it.

Here is the painted in ‘three prong’ shape from the ‘doodle’/worksheets posted earlier. Included is the spiral and vertical design parts to this right 1/3 section of the painting. Is it finished, almost. Just have to check and touch up some areas within each section.

Above the spiral (see previous art posts) there was a platform line and another design was needed. Shown top left is one of several ‘doodles’ on various pages that peeked my interest. Lower left, a maybe solution. On the right I worked with combining the three. Later the painted result.

A dreary day, time to put aside the art for a bit and iron stuff. Eleven shirts, three pants and then back to painting. Then later, off to see the grandkids. Of course their mom and dad are included in the visit 🙂.

This is the vertical design painted in along with the spiral design. Of note, these are first coats. Second and third coats will cause some color variations as shadows, gradations, minor changes and corrections are made.
This is the lower right quarter/corner of the painting.

Back to the painting. Next to the spiral design (shown last week) is a vertical design. These are three of several attempts to get a design I wanted. Lots of erasing. The one to the right is the one that works for me and the overall design of the painting.

Couldn’t help another picture of four day old Maeve. This should be (key word should) the last photo I post of us until she’s a year old.

This is the transfer of the spiral to canvas. Two earlier worksheet posts showed the transition to get a final design and these first coat colors follow the same process in that they may change a bit as second/third coats are added. This is just a small section of the 18 x 24 inch canvas.

This is final worksheet spiral from yesterday’s rough drafts. Have Sphere dimensions worked out. Light colors are for example. Now to transfer this to the canvas which is just a small part of the final design (lower right corner). Now on to another area. #art #design #spiral #oilpainting

On a worksheet for a oil painting I am working on, the first rough sketch-in of a spiral didn’t look right so I spent a few hours last night looking at images of spirals and finally after several attempts I have one that will work for this painting.

Happy Father's Day!! My 'dad day' starts off with getting ready to work on a section in a new oil painting. Yes, I listen to lots of music while painting.

Opening Friday evening of HIVE artspace gallery's Opening 'Aviary' (bird themed art show) was wonderful with meetup of old and new friends/artists. Lots of fabulous artwork displayed of which I have an artwork included. 'The Worm'. June 6-July 26, In the area, by all means stop in.

Heading up to visit some wonderful friends in Harford County, near the PA line, that I haven't seen in several years. From there, a short drive up to York, PA to attend HIVE Artspace gallery's Opening 'Aviary' themed art show of which I have an artwork included. In the area, by all means stop in.

Earlier today I posted the ‘doodles’ to be used for a current finished painting. This is the worksheet showing the work to combine the two doodles to form one image for transfer to canvas.

Finished up another painting that will be part of an upcoming YT video. This is the two ‘doodles’ from my sketchbook that are used for this current oil painting.
Doodle ‘one’ was selected for the left side of the 14 x 11 canvas board. Several pages away, number ‘two’ to take up the right side.

Saw two great bands at the 'Baltimore Blues Society' show yesterday. The Dave Keyes Band (top) and then John Primer and the Real Deal Blues Band (btm.).
