important note: i had this thought during a section on hibieupho, and city the animation did not show up a single time during the symphony amidst which i was thinking about this

i had basically an hour and a half to ruminate on how CITY THE ANIMATION reflects the fundamental principles upon which kyoani seems to exist -- the power of community, the interconnectedness of human life, and the importance of valuing yourself and those around you -- and the way they then reflect those values in the works they choose to adapt, create, and elevate. being at kyoani fes today was magical.
