I bit the bullet and only just started watching One Piece and, I agree, it’s impossible to dedicate all of your media watching for months on one thing.

Pokemon didn’t really do that again, instead making Pokemon male and female with just slight design differences, at least, outside of a handful of specific sex-based evolutions (Gardevoir, Salazzle, etc.)

Specifically, an allegory for Christian conquest with the stylistic racial design of the Shandorians to match Indigenous peoples of the Americas and God Eneru being blonde haired white man.
