Snow drop in January. Triple heads against a mossy lawn in low light

🌿☕ Galanthus comes from the Greek γάλα (gala) for milk & ἄνθος (anthos) for flower

The word snowdrop is German Schneetropfen (snow-drop), from the tear drop shaped pearl earrings popular in the 16th & 17th centuries

The origin of the word alley is late Middle English, from Old French alee "walking or passage" & aller "to go".. apt really!

Interestingly mouth to mouth was used way back in the 1700s & watermen certainly in the UK were trained in it. Mary Wollstonecraft survived because of CPR & some think that Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was influenced by that 💀
