After the proposal of the Nord Stream II in 2016, that crusade of his took on a special urgency; if Russia doubled its capacity to deliver gas to Europe, American LNG would be shut out of the market forever.

And so, in 2014, right as the first LNG plants were coming online at Sabine Pass, Joe Biden specifically set about starting a war that would give him an excuse to muscle Russian gas out of the European market.

LNG will always have a higher production cost than pipeline gas for obvious reasons -- the freezing and the special ships and the unfreezing are all expensive. How could American LNG compete with Russian gas? Never in a "free market."

But as we all know now, if you super-freeze that shit, and keep it frozen, you can get it into a liquid state of matter which can then be shipped. But shipped where? Everyone in Eurasia could get cheap pipeline gas from Russia.
