It’s not just the story that matters, it’s the person telling it. Your stories are filtered through your experience, your culture, your upbringing, your identity. Don’t be afraid to let it show. Those things matter. You matter.

I think it has helped me with about two Jeopardy clues in the past five years.

I'm sure the two interpretations overlap, but occasionally the differences could be important. Your inclusion of not hurting someone else is very important in interpreting "liberty", for example, and plenty of people who use the word leave that part out.

A friend who thinks about moral culture told me that some Americans view the word "Liberty" as meaning power to do what you want, whereas classically it meant freedom from oppression.

Democracy or Freedom are not just about doing what I want and being who I am. They're really about also letting others do what they want and be who they are.

Remember, freedom is not just about your freedom, real freedom is about everyone's freedom.
