No it’s unfortunately more basic than that. Liberal ideology can’t let poor people own shares. Moreover, industry/ unions collective superfunds can’t control trillions in capital. That’s meant for liberal capitalists only. #auspol

"Huge win:" Federal Labor unveils $2.3bn plan to slash home battery costs by 30 pct | RenewEconomy Federal Labor unveils plan to dramatically boost home battery uptake in Australia, through a national scheme that would cut the up-front cost of installation by around $4,000.

So Labor government will deliver around 11.5 gigawatts for $2.3 billion. Thats a lot cheaper than nuclear. #auspol

To be honest Pete, the west wing brain is the reason the the US is in the state it’s in. Every single crisis was another chance to cave into republicans. We can’t do that the republicans will never go for it… bla bla bla.

So cheaper petrol for 12 months and a promise to raise unemployment to 4.4% in the meantime. Labor market uncertainty and an economic time bomb. It really is just a quick plan to drive down wages asap. Thanks #temutrump #auspol

You’ve got a lot of sins @amyremeikis.bsky.social. Or are you hoping to get into credit at some stage?

But more importantly the steel tariffs are imposed on everyone. Unless the US can magic up a steel industry overnight that can fill the gap - (hint it can’t and no business is gonna invest in it at the whipsaw pace trump is changing his mind) then the only losers really are US consumers.

Agree 100% with immoral opposition grandstanding.

However using β€˜false flag’ although technically correct, under current corrupted usage I wouldn’t adopt the term.

The right of Australian politics have a lot to answer for by opening Pandora’s box courting far right votes for 30+ years.

It was also to be used as a bargaining chip for reduced sentences for assisting police. It’s not uncommon for someone with links high up to offer police a weapons dump or other info with their assistance considered at sentencing.

Context: what difference does 2-3 weeks make in the scheme of an electoral term vs 2-3 weeks in the scheme of cleaning up after a cyclone?

The Coalition don’t have many policies, but they still can’t get their story straight Peter Dutton and his team keep contradicting themselves, β€˜misspeaking’ and backtracking. In a few weeks, they could be the government

The Coalition don’t have many policies, but they still can’t get their story straight. Absolute policy vacuum. It’s not that they’re not across the detail, it’s that there is no detail. #auspol

I keep wondering how much #Dutton invested.
How much would the average guy at the pub invest without a hot tip?
I think if we knew, we’d know.

And these levels of imports have been around for years so it’s unlikely US steel / alum can ramp up overnight let alone provide a cheaper alternative. So big risk is just US inflation and Fed hiking interest rates by the end of the year.

Tariffs are universal, so it’s not like other countries can offer cheaper alternatives and fill the void.

Steel/aluminium tariffs won’t shift anything for a couple years if even then.

@chrisbowenmp.bsky.social playing the you can’t risk the other guy didn’t work well for the US Dems. Please Chris, make sure there’s a β€˜and this is what Labor is doing/ will do’

Running a β€˜we’re not the other guy strategy’ isn’t going to work in this climate.

No one confirmed him either. Thats not the US system. No doubt many laws regarding data retention and security have been breached. Be interesting to see if there is anything resembling accountability ever restored.

Mate you’re having a laugh.
Literally seen the Labor party wrestle back inflation while also providing meaningful cost of living relief. LNP are truly awful during economic crisis. Every time times get tough Labor mop it up. But that’ll never be good enough for you.

Haven’t for years. Problem is if you’re politically engaged in Australia you can’t avoid it. Every media outlets breathlessly regurgitate interviews and amplify the aforementioned garbage.

Well I can math how I like if you’re going to purposely exclude influence of war in the Ukraine, oh and your mate Taylor hid the fact that prices were to jump at least 12.5% for 2022. Thats a little bigger than 8.3 and astronomical when you consider it just fell 25% in the last quarter. Cute

Why doesn’t it work that way?
8% of $300 is $24.
$300-$24 =$276.00

You can keep the extra $1
