Government attorney who told judge in ICE case, 'This job sucks,' removed from detail Julie Le made the remark while she was representing the U.S. attorney’s office in Minnesota, where federal officers are conducting a massive immigration crackdown.

More on the Minnesota "this job sucks" attorney from yesterday's habeas cases.

Le told Blackwell during the court hearing on Tuesday that β€œit takes 10 emails from me for a release condition to be corrected. It takes me threatening to walk out for something else to be corrected,” KARE reported. 1/

πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Ί In 1960, the State Dept compiled a report concluding the Cuban revolution was too popular to overthrow, so they should "den[y] money and supplies to Cuba, to decrease monetary and real wages, to bring about hunger, desperation, and overthrow of government."

66 years of genocidal strategy.

State Knew ICE Plans for Merrimack As Early As Jan. 12 Documents obtained by the New Hampshire ACLU show state officials have known for weeks that Immigration and Customs Enforcement plans to turn a Merrimack warehouse into a prison.

WOW: State leaders say NH Governor Kelly Ayotte lied about her knowledge of ICE's plan to build a giant human warehouse in the state.

Documents obtained by @aclu-nh.bsky.social show the state government has known for weeks about the Merrimack facility bc ICE is actively pursuing legal approval.

Budget for gates ($1.3M), installation ($2.3M) & support staff ($2.4M) could make the entire commuter rail system fare free for a month

But the people who run MA see transit riders as Others stealing from them

I will believe otherwise when gates go up on I93 on-ramps & at metered parking spots

I don’t think I can say this forcefully enough: hundreds of thousands of Haitians will lose status tomorrow with racist ending of their TPS & are spending today refreshing their feeds for a court order that could literally save thier lives.

This is nothing short of psychosocial torture.

HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!
A screenshot of a link with a question mark followed by a seemingly random string of characters.
These are source identifiers. Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity.
When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers.
Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

Provides ICE with almost $8 billion in emergency funding, including funding to expand the capacity of detention facilities. Specifically, provides enough funding for ICE "to keep at least 50,000 detention beds availableβ€”an increase of 47 percent from the 34,000 beds allocated in 2023, 2022, and 2021."

"What I don't support is what ICE is right now, in its current iteration. It is not fulfilling the mission it was set to fulfill . . . What needs to happen is that ICE needs to be pulled back."

We’re basically trapping people with mobility issues in their homes and saying we’re ok w that as a city. We’d never accept requiring property owners to clear the street in front of their home, it wouldn’t work! So why are we ok w it for sidewalks, curb cuts, and crosswalks?

Note the problem here. Trump does apparently want to minimize clashes between government security services and protesters. But he doesn’t appear to want those heavily armed government militias to stop doing the things that are causing those clashes in the first place.

What’s really going on here is this: Trump is looking to defuse anger among congressional Democrats for purposes that don’t portend a meaningful shift. An administration official gave away the game to Punchbowl News, admitting that these β€œde-escalatory measures” are about placating Senate Democrats so they don’t seize this moment to demand restrictions on ICE as part of any government funding package.

The problem for the White House, Punchbowl reports, is that if Democrats successfully renegotiate new measures, the House might have to pass a new packageβ€”the House already passed funding that included money for DHSβ€”and Republicans doubt that’s possible. So the show of de-escalation is about making it easier for Senate Democrats to support appropriations bills that don’t require another vote in the House.

There really seems to be a lot of kayfabe happening right now. Trump is pretending to de-escalate to placate Dems so they don't demand reform, and Dems are making up fake reforms so they can pretend like they made changes while they vote to fund DHS.
