Near identical distance in miles from Didcot, to either Swindon, or Reading

I have almost never travelled GWR, I've seen the NSE boundary fare weirdness before

But never this horrendous. Jesus Christ.

WHAT THE FUCK are those fare scales and how on earth has that been left like that for decades without someone fixing it

It's an identical situation in Ipswich where one stop down at Manningtree it's half the price, the way around it is to buy a return to the first stop in the old NSE zone and then a return from there to where you actually want to go

As long as it's not an advance ticket, absolutely nothing. You are (usually) allowed to break your journey or start it later on route or finish it earlier on route

There is a stupid reason why, and it's because Didcot is the edge of the network zone, so NSE fare scale day returns are not available outside of this zone

It's bonkers, you shouldn't have to know what train patterns looked like in the 80s to get a good deal

Propose functional, frequent, high quality transit and everyone asks for spreadsheets.

Build this bloated concrete mess coast to coast and no one bats an eye.

If you want some fun choose a station in zone 1, then check the single fare finder page from both Penge East and Penge West. Or East Croydon and West Croydon.

Fare scales are a confusing mess. But hey at least the caps are the same regardless...

I use TP-Link doorbells and cameras because I trust a networking company way more than Amazon haha
