the champion carnival style ceremony with all the participants at the start of the first dynamite wouldn’t even take very long or very much effort, it boggles my mind they don’t do at least that

(also you definitely should not have run a stupid three way match for one of your block finals in the very first year but that was just them really driving home that nobody should care about this thing i guess)

3 is the real non-negotiable one, because without it you don't really have a tournament, you have a random collection of matches that you sometimes run a standings graphic for. the C2 will never matter as long as it's just bound for glory series 2: electric boogaloo

1) announce the participants more than 2 days in advance, and on your actual TV
2) do something cool to hype it up, whether it's an in ring ceremony with the participants or a big press conference etc.
3) FUCKING ANNOUNCE THE SCHEDULE OF MATCHES AHEAD OF TIME

it boggles my mind that we're on year 3 of AEW not being able to book a round robin tournament correctly. a teenager with a TEW save can book their own version of a G1/champion carnival better than this

okay today’s goddess tournament show actually ruled, thank god after the kinda crappy two shows from sapporo it left off with last weekend. bunch of fun undercard stuff and then syuri/saki vs ami/lady was the best match of the whole tournament so far (first i’d go 4* on)

the way finally getting to see a natsu & saori tag after their like two weeks off in this tournament healed me both mentally and spiritually……

i have other stuff i want (and need) to watch but somehow i just ended up waiting and refreshing this over and over again. i blame the lack of natsu & saori tags on the last few shows. i missed my girls 🥺
